ABOUT ME
I’m a museum curator, researcher and writer based in Norwich, UK. And yes, I’m just a tiny bit obsessed with history.
I hold an MA in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies and a BA in War Studies and History. In December 2022 I earned a doctorate in the History of Art from the University of East Anglia. I'm currently working on turning my thesis into a book.
My Research
My PhD research explored what life was like on the bases of the 8th US Army Air Force during WWII, but I'm fascinated by all areas of the air war over East Anglia. In eight years of researching the social history of the 'Mighty Eighth', I've unearthed a wealth of stories about what it was like to live through this extraordinary period. Of course, a good portion of this information comes from talking to those who were there. Through my role as a volunteer at the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum at Thorpe Abbotts, and as a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society, and the 100th Bomb Group Foundation, I've become part of a network of veterans, experts, and fellow enthusasiasts - all working to keep the memory of the Eighth alive.
My Experience
From tracking down missing beneficiaries as a probate genealogist, delving into the world of fast jets as a researcher, or working as a Head Curator of a regional museum, I've gained my fair share of research, interpretation and management experience.
Although I love writing about history, my head’s not always stuck in the past. In fact, I love helping to build for the future, whether that's through heritage-orientated marketing and creating inclusive, immersive exhibitions.
